Best Buds

We have had alot of work done in our backyard recently. Tate was so excited to wake up every morning and see big tracktors right outside our window. He was so sad to hear that the tracktors would be leaving so he and his buddy, Landon (our neighbor), went to say bye. They were so excited when the workers said they could sit in them so we had to get pictures.

Happy Halloween!

So my favorite holiday has come and gone. I love Halloween! Usually I have costumes ready and planned in advanced, but this year I really have struggled being organized with anything. I found Tate's costume at Old Navy and ordered Addie's on-line. I wasn't going to dress up but last minute I put some clothes together to create some 80's rock chick. Surprisingly all the peices of my costume are clothes I wear like everyday......scary isn't it? Well I forced Matt to grab a hat and jeans and call himself a cowboy. He couldn't be the only one with out a costume!
THis was probably our funest halloween together. Tate was just old enough to enjoy it. He would go up to the doors and say, "Give me candy". That isn't exactly what I told him to say......but I geuss he figured it was just as effecttive. We had a hard time getting him to stop. Luckily by now he has forgotten about the big bag of candy we have stashed in our cubbouard. Mom and Dad haven't though!

I took some new photos of Addie that show how much she has grown up!

Muder Mystery Dinner

Our friends put on a Murder Mystery Dinner. The theme was an Italian Wedding. Matt was part of the Mafia and I was the sister of the bride who Matt was suppose to hit on all night. It was so fun. Matt even had fun pretending to be his part. He won't ever admit it, though he did get the Drama Queen Award.

The Big Brother

Tate has been so funny lately. he loves his baby sister and tries so hard to help out. As soon as Addie starts to cry Tate yells, "baby crying", and he is the first to her rescue. He also is so worried that she always has her "Stinky", or that's what he calls her Binky. He is always asking, "Where is stinky"?
Tate also has been fascinated with how baby eats. He will try to tell me he is hungry and try to open up my shirt. I try to explain to him that only baby eats from mommy, but he always thinks I might eventually change my mind. I haven't, sorry Tate! The other day Tate took one of his toy trains and lifted up his shirt, pressed the train to his chest and said, "Look mommy choo choo train eat!".
Off the baby subject Tate is also learning how to get out of eating the food he hates. Just this last week he kept telling me he was done eating, yet he hadn't eatin any of his chicken. I told him he needed to eat his chicken, so he took his water and poured it all over his food, and said he couldn't. We made him eat his watery chicken anyway. Then when he thought he was being sneaky, the next day he tried to dump his food in the garbage with out me seeing and put it back on the table. Then said, "All done".
As much of a challenge that Tate can be he is so funny and I can't help but laugh at him. We love our Tate!

Full House

Life is a little bit more crazy with two. Our home has sort of turned into a big potty for both of the kids. Tate was caught peeing over the stairs the other day and since then would like to try again. Addie of course does not have so much control over her little body. Two nights ago we had the longest night with her. She kept getting hiccups and then she would poop and by the time all that was over she would be ready to eat again. All night the same sequence continued until the last diaper change in which she decided she wasn't finished, and as soon as I took her diaper off she shot at me like a cannon and got me all over the face.....lets just say it wasn't pee. I had to wake Matt up and have him help me, he thought it was pretty funny and by morning time, I did too! It is hard trying to balance two kids with so many different needs, and so many other things all at once. Today I woke up very hungry and went down stairs with Addie to get some breakfast. Matt had woken up earlier with Tate allowing me to sleep in. When I went down stairs I noticed the kitchen quite a mess. I guess daddy Matt had let Tate pour his own cereal this morning and I noticed A small bowl over flowing with Lucky Charms. But there was something missing from that cereal.....? All the marshmallows. Needless to say Tate had dumped out the whole cereal, leaving the box empty and no more marshmallows! so before I ate I had to clean up. Well since that was gone I thought I would have oatmeal and while I was getting that ready I would dress Addie and Tate. By the time I got them dressed and my oatmeal was done and waiting for me at the table, Addie needed a diaper change. I ran upstairs got the diapers and changed Addie. By then I was soooo hungry. But as I turned the corner to the kitchen I saw Tate sitting next to my oatmeal......and he had eaten it all gone. I guess marshmallows aren't too filling. So then I had to make me some more oatmeal.
I have to admit, already life is more exciting with two kids.
