Tate and the BIrds!

Tate kept chasing birds around and trying to touch them. We didn't catch this part on video, but we point out right after all the birds flew in right towards him. YOu can totally tell he was freaked out. We did catch one bird swooping right in front of him afterwards though and that REALLY freaked him out. We thought this was so funny! Here is the video below.

The Long and Winding road

The drive was not so fun for Addie. She is a really good baby, but she just couldn't keep that happy face on in the back of the car with nothing but the back of the seat to stare at. She cried most of the time. Tate on the other hand was really good. I think Matt and I both agreed at the end of the trip that things would have gone a lot smoother if we could have just strapped Tate in a car sear and a car the whole time. We ended up driving half way and then stopping in Mesquite. The next day we drove the rest of the way. On this first night we also learned Addie does not like her Pack n Play. She would not sleep in it at all. So the first night we shared a bed with her. Things did get better though. In our second hotel we got upgraded, not only did we have our two queen beds but we also got a separate room with a pull out bed. Addie was then given a comfy mattress, which she preferred. Tate was really excited to have his own room, but when we realized the glass window which separated our room from his would be such a distraction, we almost couldn't get him to sleep. He kept smashing his face through the window and making faces at us. He really thought he was funny. We would have taken a picture, but we knew better then to encourage his behavior.
We decided that we would take Tate to an aquarium the first day we arrived. We went to the Long Beach Pacific Aquarium. It was actually really fun. Tate really enjoyed the fish. Even Addie seemed to enjoy watching them swim around.

We're Back!

So I have learned something new this week. Vacations are no longer meant for relaxation! With two kids to pack and entertain in a 12 hour car ride, there is nothing relaxing in any of any sort. Was it worth is???? That is a very good question. Well for our first big family vacation I guess it was. So here are the details.........

Snow is heading for Disneyland.

Finally I have talked Matt into going to Disneyland.  All I had to do was show him the prices and let him know that after March Tate would be all that $$$.   Matt said, "If you plan it before March we can go".  So disneyland here we come.  I am so excited.  Even though Tate keeps talking about seeing Mickey and Goofy I have to say I am the most excited of them all.  I will be sure to post some pics when we get back.  We got some great deals on tickets from ebay and I found a good deal on a hotel. Add in Matt's free gas on his work car and we are good to go. On the other hand driving that many hours with the kids may not be too fun...... Oh well, it's worth it.

Much Needed Sleep!

So Since I have had Addie I have really suffered from sleep deprivation.  We have had many nights where we (Addie and I) were waking up every 2 hours, NOT SO FUN!  I have had all the symptoms of desperately needing sleep.  Some of the silly things I have done is try to force Addie's Binky in Matt's mouth, even when he kept refusing.  I tried to open a glass cup with a can opener and recently I found myself trying to put on Addie's coat before heading out the door (This was at a neighbors house and my two friends were looking at me like I was crazy).
Well Finally Addie has slept through the night, 3 nights to be exact.  The first night I wasn't able to enjoy because Tate was up all night with nightmares or something, but the other 2 nights were heaven.    I just had to share my excitment!

World of Discovery

Addie is getting so big. She loves to look around everywhere we go. She also loves to stand. It's almost as if sitting is the uncool thing to do. She will hold onto mommies fingers and pull herself up on her toes. She hates it when I try to sit her back down. If only she would roll over or crawl, now there's something she should try.
Well I took some cute pics of her the other day and thought I would post them. Notice the bow....My sister in law taught me how to make them. I am so excited to make a huge collection of bows. Well that was my first one I completed. Just thought I'd show it off a bit. Addie makes it look a lot cuter then it is......he he he!

To be continued.... continues

So it has been almost two years since I stopped mid sentence of my last post and write, "to be continued". So let's get back t...
