I like to ride my bicycle......
Ok so I totally got to brag for a minute here. Just Kidding, this really isn't that cool, but for me it was a pretty BIG accomplishment. So I live in Suncrest. Suncrest is basically a big hill. This is where many bikers love to ride. After seeing this I got motivated to buy a bike. (Ok spending money actually didn't take that much motivation, but riding it did...) So for those of you who know me well, I am not athletic at all. The last time I owned a bike was when I was like 8 years old. It had pom poms on the handle. I didn't ride it much so I think my parents probably got rid of it with in that year. That is my ONLY back ground with bikes.... Seriously. No one seems to believe me. Matt didn't even believe me until I got on and rode the thing. Instead of laughing at how bad I was and how I couldn't switch gears, he was pissed I talked him into spending hundreds of dollars on this rode bike.
So basically it has been sitting in our garage for a couple of months and I have been to scared to ride it. Well on Saturday, long story short, my friend talked me into riding bikes with her. So I did. Then she tricked me into riding up to the suncrest market, which is a full up hill 2 mile ride. I have walked this thing a few times with my kids in a non-jogging stroller and it is a killer, so I was VERY hesitant. I am so bad at per pressure and gave it a shot.
I'm alive.....and I made it. It took almost an hour the first time but we did it again on Wed and did it in 30 min. Yes, and I did it a second time. Down hill, well that hill is freakin fast. Except I use those breaks like I use a steering wheel. So before you know it I will be doing the full South Mountian/Suncrest ride. Or maybe not? Anyway I was pretty pumped and had to share it with the world.

that is impressive. i haven't owned a bike for over 1ike 12 years and i want to get one too. we got a bike trailor for the kids last christmas and i tried pulling them up a hill by our house on mike's bike and i had to walk it. that was embarrassing. bike riding uphill is hard. so i am truly impressed. and i want a bike. you have me motivated. though i want a lot of things, and too bad money just doesn'nt grow on trees. anyway, nice work. keep it up and you will get way buff.
um hello tasha that is so awesome, seriously i am so proud of you. i want to do that someday as well, but it will have to wait. I am so sad that i can't go to those "rumba" (whatever you call it) classes with you. the earliest i could get in to see a doc about my knee was July 2nd. BOOO! and i still struggle walking, so i should probably lay of the crazy fun dancing. it makes me sad though, i have been watching "so you think you can dance" and it is making me want to dance.
I am SO SO SO impressed and SO SO SO proud of you. Someday you can ride your bike to my house :). You are my hero!
